Whether it is mother’s milk or formula, “milk" is a primary food source for infants.
Not only does the baby need the food to grow, but also the baby builds bonds with those that offer feeding. I remember the bond which was built between us as I would feed my son/daughter their bottles. We learned to trust each other in those simple/pure moments.
When we read our Bibles as a primary “food source”, not only do we learn about God but we also learn about God’s faithfulness. Reading scripture is not only a life giving exercise in building wisdom (food), but also a wonderful exercise in building trust.
Nourished by God’s Word (Bible) we grow in our salvation. We grow in our knowledge of God - not just because the Bible contains important truths about God, but also because it helps us to trust in God’s truth for us.
“You will grow into salvation, since you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
God knows in these crazy and isolated days I could use to learn AND trust in God.
I’m praying for you.
