CHORAL MINISTRY

We have a variety of choral groups and praise choirs that participate in worship across all three sites. These groups are open to Jr. High and Sr. High students through adults of all ability levels. We are also constantly seeking individuals who are willing to lift their voices as soloists or in small ensembles.   • Chancel Choir:

    Chancel Choir is the Uptown Sanctuary choir that leads worship twice a month, September through June, at our 9:00am Uptown service, as well as for special worship services and outreach concerts. This group averages 20 to 30 members, and is open to senior high students through adults of all vocal backgrounds and abilities. Music selections are typically SATB and vary in genres from sacred classical to spirituals to contemporary. Weekly rehearsals are held Wednesdays, August through early June, from 7:00–8:15pm in the Uptown Choir Room, located on the B level. Jose Clavell, Director)

  • Chapel Singers:

    Chapel Singers is a choral group that sings once per month at the 9:00am traditional service at Faith Chapel. They rehearse every third Sunday from 8:00 to 8:45am, September through May at Faith Chapel.

  • Praise Choir:

    Praise Choir enhances worship at the CLC by singing praises alongside the band, and provides occasional special music. (Amity Wagner, Director)

  • Special Concerts/Cantata Choir:

    These are seasonal vocal ensembles comprised of singers from all worship sites who meet weekly (choose Sunday afternoons or Wednesday evenings). During the Advent season, they come together to practice for our Christmas Concert. From January through Easter, they prepare for our annual Holy Week Musical – which combines the talents of singers, actors, dancers, and live orchestra to recreate the days and events of Jesus' life and passion in a fully-staged musical.   • Women's Ensemble:

    The Women's Ensemble is a seasonal a SSAA women's choir for high school and adult soprano and alto singers. They rehearse on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00pm in the Uptown Choir Room during the summer. They share their music in Uptown worship during our 9:00am traditional services. Music varies from hymn arrangments to other sacred music offerings. (Jose Clavell, Director)

  • Men's Vocal Group:

    Men's Vocal Group is a TTBB men's choir for high school and adult tenor and bass singers. They rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00pm in the Uptown Choir Room (during the summer), and present their music in Uptown worship and for various other outreach concerts and events. Music varies from hymn arrangements to spirituals to other sacred music settings. (Don Miller & JoAnn Orthel, Directors)
