Connection opportunities from last week's GREEN SHEET worship supplement:

  • Wesley Challenge

    Starts January 22

Strive for a deeper connection with God, Self and Others during this 3-week challenge of John Wesley’s 21 questions. These questions are designed to renew your passion and discover a deeper commitment to God, while practicing the discipline of daily devotion and prayer. This group begins January 22 from 6:30-7:30 in CLC Room 106/107. Books ($10) available at the Connect. Leader: Cherry Marsden (This email address is being protected from spambots. • January Mission of the Month

    Filling Closets & Drawers

We are encouraging you to shop those after-Christmas sales for bath towels, sheets/bedding (twin is biggest need), pillows, men’s/woman’s underwear (all sizes), socks for men and women (all sizes), bras (for all ages/sizes) and toilet paper. Monetary donations are always welcome. Write "Jan. Mission of the Month" in your check memo or find a specially marked envelope at the CONNECT. Keep the items coming!

  • "Live Well" Course

    Overcoming Depression or Anxiety

Anxiety and depression occur as frequently as the common cold, and yet no one wants to talk about them. A course called “Live Well: Overcoming Depression or Anxiety” is currently being offered at the Ankeny YMCA, 1102 N. Ankeny Blvd., on Thursdays now through March 8 from 6:30-8:00pm. The course provides practical ways to help alleviate these debilitating conditions. A nominal charge of $5 is requested to defray the cost of materials, but scholarships are available. Each class session begins with a video-led spiritual focus and moves into the weekly topic and subsequent discussion. If you or someone you know suffers from either anxiety or depression, let them know about this opportunity. A team of facilitators include health professionals and teachers.
