Respond to God's gift of love by serving your neighbor.

MASK DONATIONS: We know from national as well as local news sources, that fabric masks are in need as manufacturers cannot keep up with demand of approved medical masks. Follow this LINKLINK to a pattern for making masks to help our front line workers. These cannot be used for the care of COVID 19 patients, but the CDC states that fabric masks are a crisis response option. Currently, we know that Bidwell needs these for their volunteers. Please bring them to the Uptown site Bidwell bin. If you have any thin elastic, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. It is in short supply and we know of folks that are waiting on it to make more masks.

  • Habitat For Humanity Events

sign up for these June events!
Each year we work with other churches in Ankeny and together have a panel build with Habitat for Humanity to construct homes in the Des Moines area for those who need affordable housing, as well as help with other Habitat projects. The Ankeny Rock the Block will occur on June 11-12, AND the Ankeny Circle of Faith 2020 Panel Build hosted at Prairie Ridge Church will occur on June 12-13. So in addition to helping raise funds to assist Habitat with their building projects for others, we encourage anyone healthy and willing to sign up for these work days.

  • Helping Local Agencies

Bidwell, Impact, YMCA Housing, Sunny View

Impact Ankeny and Bidwell Riverside continue to be inundated to keep food on their shelves for their clients. They desperately need food and personal care items. If you'd like to donate items, but need help getting them to the church, contact the church office (515.964.4249) and we'll send someone to pick up your items. Both agencies would also appreciate financial donations.

The YMCA Supportive Housing Campus needs assistance, too. They are creating “Comfort at Home” kits, as well as some other needs. Find the list hereFind the list here. Bring donations to the Uptown site and place in marked red bins.

Give some encouragement and love to the 78 Sunny View residents missing their families by sending cards and letters. The cards can be dropped off at the brown card table in the front foyer at Sunny View to the attention of “Michelle In Activities.” The recipient of the note can be addressed as: A Sunny View Resident or Dear Sunny View Friend. Sunny View would also appreciate donations of bird feeders and hanging flower baskets so the residents have something pretty to look at thru their windows.

    Habitat for Humanity

Each year we work with other churches in Ankeny and together have a wall build with Habitat for Humanity to construct homes in the Des Moines area for those who need affordable housing. This year we had planned an additional event to join with them in a "Rock the Block" event to do repairs on homes right here in Ankeny. While the timing of these things may change, we can raise the money needed now. Even through this pandemic, Habitat staff continue to build and repair homes. Simply indicate this on your check memo line by writing "May Mission of the Month" or give on-linegive on-line.

We now need help so we can visit with even more people! Can you spare an hour or more a month to visit someone who may be lonely? Would you consider offering Communion to someone who can’t make it to church and is longing for that connection to Christ? Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. The church is always in need of skilled labor to help our buildings and grounds remain safe, clean, and maintained. If you have experience (professional or DIY), this is a great opportunity for you to be in service with your church family so that we can focus on the ministry that happens every day at our facilities. The Property Ministry Team is an important, on-going ministry in our church.
