Christian Care

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  John 15:12
We’re glad you found us and we’re here to help.
At Ankeny First, we are here to reflect God’s love and bring wholeness and healing to God’s people as we walk together through life.
Below you will find the many ways in which we offer care.

How we can care for you and your loved ones...

Christian Care Ministry

With a congregation as large as ours, we rely on trained Christian Care Ministers (CCM) to help our pastors and staff support those going through a difficult season. CCMs are ready to stand alongside you, offering compassionate care and support. If you would like some extra support, please reach out to us to be paired with a CCM who walk with you and provide hope.

GriefShare Support Group

GriefShare is a warm, caring environment designed to help you discover there are others who have the same kind of feelings you do and who understand the hurt you feel and the loss you have experienced. GriefShare is offered two times throughout the year.

Live Well Support Group

The Covenant of Marriage

Live Well - Overcoming Anxiety and Depression - Learning how to reduce anxiety and alleviate any depression would help each of us enjoy a peaceful, more productive new year. After completing one of these confidential, supportive, separate 8-week classes you will have developed six healthy lifestyle habits and will join the 90% who maintain a major reduction in symptoms
Planning a wedding is an exciting and joyous time and we would love to help make your special day memorable. If you are interested in having a wedding ceremony at one of Ankeny First’s locations or having a pastor officiate at an off-site location, please contact us to get the details of your day scheduled and planned.

Family Addition

Congratulations! Welcoming a new family member into your lives is exciting and amazing and emotional and more! We would love to connect with you in order to learn more about how things are going with your new addition, as well as to get a gift to your family! Give us a call so we can be a support during this this new phase of your life!

Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism is a profound and sacred rite within the Methodist Church. In a sacrament, God uses common elements - in this case, water - as means of divine grace. Baptism is administered by the church as the Body of Christ. It is the act of God through the grace of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. If you would like to discuss scheduling a baptism for you or a family member please reach out so we can assist in getting this scheduled and planned at one of our sites.

Senior Connection

Our Senior Connection team is dedicated to supporting our homebound parishioners. We can offer visits, serve Communion, deliver recorded worship services and more. We want to ensure that everyone, regardless of circumstances, stays connected with our church family. Let us know if you would like a team member to reach out.

Funerals

Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things we will ever go though. We are here to offer compassionate support and guidance in planning funeral services to anyone. We are committed to assisting you and your family in planning meaningful and personal funeral services that honor the memory of your loved one. If you need to begin the funeral planning process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
