Train a child in the way that they should go,
and when they are old they will not turn from it.

Proverbs 22:6

At Ankeny First we cherish the opportunity to share God's love with children from our community.  Children are encouraged and welcomed to participate in the fullness of life in our faith community.  Children have opportunities to learn about God in Sunday School, Sunday morning worship, KidZone, VBS, and so much more! It would be our privilege to get to know your children and learn about God's love together!

VOLUNTEER TO BE A
SUNDAY SCHOOL "HELPER"

We invite you to help invest in the faith building of the children at Ankeny First by helping with Sunday School! This is a great way to make a difference in the life of a child & help create life long followers of Jesus.

MIRACLE on 3rd Street

Each December, the community gathers in Uptown Ankeny to experience "Miracle on 3rd Street," where people of all ages find joy in the Christmas season.

On December 13 (5-7:30 pm) we have an extraordinary opportunity to represent to the community the most wonderful miracle of all time, Jesus!  Not only will our living nativity include sheep, donkeys, and goats, but a cast of characters straight from the Bible who will bring this story to life. REGISTER TO HELP WITH THIS OUTREACH / CHILDREN & FAMILY EVENT!

SUNDAY SCHOOL

We welcome all children (ages 3 years - 5th grade) to Sunday School where they will discover exciting Bible stories, activities, crafts, and games which challenge them to grow in the their faith so that they can proclaim the good news of God’s love and serve God and their neighbors.
CHRISTIAN LIFE CENTER - 710 NE 26th St.
At the CLC, we have Sunday School at both the 9:00am and 10:30am services. Children begin worship with their parents/guardians. Children are dismissed to their classrooms following praise music and prayer, accompanied by teachers. Parents can check their kids into Sunday School before worship at the designated checkin station in the entry of the building. There is also a nursery in the Sunday School hallway where well-trained staff provide childcare during worship services.
UPTOWN CAMPUS - 206 SW Walnut St.
At Uptown, we have Sunday School at our 9:00am service. The children begin worship in the Sanctuary and are dismissed a few minutes into worship with teachers. Sunday School classrooms are located on the lower level of the Uptown campus, below the sanctuary. Nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers (under two years old) with trained childcare staff located in Room 117 near the sanctuary.

KIDZONE

At KidZone students ages 4 through 5th grade will have a blast learning more about God's love for them while exploring scripture, engaging in worship, responding through outreach projects, and interacting with other kids and adults! The games and crafts help reinforce the truths we are learning from the Bible. There's always lots of singing and dancing, and children are given opportunities to share their music in worship services throughout the year. Our team of energetic volunteers are eager to welcome you! Join them at the Christian Life Center (Room 103) on Wednesday nights 6:00-7:00pm. This program is FREE, and registration is not required. We can't wait to see you at KidZone!
