OUR MISSION WITH FITNESS @FIRST

Our Sports and Fitness ministry at Ankeny First United Methodist Church strives to set ourselves apart from any other gym in the area by building a community around God. We hope that as you come to class each day to exercise you will also feel supported by participants and instructors to grow in your faith.

"SET" (Seniors Exercising Together)

Our SET classes are designed to increase flexibility, joint stability, balance, coordination, muscular strength, and cardiovascular endurance. We not only provide a workout but also an opportunity to be spiritually fit and to grow closer to Christ.
 We have classes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 or 10:00am. Cost is $20, and registration is not required. Come try us out before you join!

Small Group Fitness Training

Our Small Group Fitness Training class is a full body strength and cardio class using a wide variety of equipment. It is held three days a week at 5:00am in our fitness room at the CLC. With only 9 spots available, there is more 1 on 1 time with the instructor as well as a smaller setting for prayers and devotions. Cost is $50 per 4-week session. Pre-registration is required.

"BOOT CAMP"
Training

Boot Camp is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. This class provides full-body strength training mixed with high intensity cardio designed to tone your body and improve your endurance. Modifications for all fitness levels are provided. Cost is $40 per 8-week session. Schedule is dependent on A.M. or P.M. classes. Pre-registration is required.

12 Days of Fitness

12 Days of Fitness @ Ankeny First is BACK! This is three weeks of workouts, fun, and a time to share with one another when we may need an extra prayer. Cost is $25.  Class times are either 5:30am Monday-Thursday OR
6:30pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We will begin on Monday December 2 and end on Thursday December 19.

Jen Young

Fitness Consultant
Jen Young serves as our fitness consultant and ministry support specialist at the CLC. Jen helps to vision sports and fitness ministries for the church. Jen's responsibilities include scheduling instructors, planning and maintaining fitness programs, as well as building scheduling and calendar support programs at our CLC campus. Jen is married with 2 children and looks forward to helping you engage in faith and fitness with Ankeny First!
